WIC

Feed your family well.

WIC is a supplemental nutrition program based on eligibility. Breastfeeding support and nutrition education is offered to all participants. The WIC program helps families like yours start strong and stay that way.  We issue EBT (Electronic Benefits Transfer) you can use to get nutritious foods, free.

Who’s eligible?

– Pregnant women
– Postpartum moms (6 to 12 months after delivery)
– Infants
– Children under the age of five

You must live in Indiana and meet income guidelines. Families receiving Medicaid, SNAP or TANF are automatically eligible for the program. When you apply, you’ll receive a personalized nutrition assessment to see if the program is right for you.

Check the income chart to see if your family might qualify

The income chart can be found on this page under Income Eligibility.

How does WIC work?

As a WIC applicant, you will visit the clinic in your community for a free visit to be enrolled and to process your EBT (Electronic Benefit Transfer).  At the appointment, you’ll receive nutrition support and breastfeeding support, and learn about other services you can use to help your family.  The WIC EBT can be used at local grocery stores for cereal, juice, milk, cheese, eggs, beans, fruits, vegetables, whole grains and formula.  The food is healthy and everything is free, which makes it easy to do what’s right for you and your kids.
