The Child Care Voucher Program assists in child care expenses for children ages 12 or younger, enabling a parent to work or to continue his or her education either in school or in a job training program.

The Child Care Resource and Referral Agency in your county can help you find an eligible provider.  Their phone number is 1-800-554-9331.  An eligible provider must be 18 eyars of age or older.  He or she can be a relative or non relative, licensed center or home or licensed exempt home or ministry.

Eligibility

Eligibility is determined by the family's monthly gross income.  The parent may be required to pay part of the child care based on income.  The parent must be working or enrolled in job training courses or educational programs.  Eligibility for child care assistance will be re-determined every six months by the Intake Specialist.  Children must be under 13 years of age.

Parents must report changes in employment, income, address, family size or child care provider to the Intake Specialist.  The parent will be responsible for choosing an eligible provider and help the provider register with the local Intake Specialist.

Applying for Assistance

Call your local ICAP office to set up an appointment.  You will be asked to provide 30 days of verifiable income (child support, SSI, AFDC/TANF, salary) work schedule and/or class schedule.

Families may receive assistance for a period of time as determined by their application.  Assistance is provided to enable families the opportunity for adequate child care while striving for self-sufficiency.  Once a family has reached a level of income that exceeds program guidelines, assistance is terminated.

Paying Your Provider

Your child care provider must complete minimum requirements to become certified.  For more details on these requirements, please call TCC at 1-866-921-6623.

Additional Information

Parent must report changes in employment, income, address, family size, or child care provider to the voucher agent. The parent will be responsible for choosing an eligible provider and help the provider register with the voucher agent.
